Choose the film, then its picture quality
A sharp poster is not evidence of a 4K video. Open the film’s viewing options and check the edition supplied by the selected service. HD,1080p and 4K labels refer to the video, not the image used on a catalog card.
Higher resolution can reveal more detail on a suitable large screen, but the source, compression, display and connection also affect what you see. A steady 1080p stream can be more enjoyable than a 4K stream that stops repeatedly.
When quality changes during a scene
Some players adjust their video bitrate as the available connection changes. The picture may become softer before sharpening again. Where a quality menu exists, a fixed lower setting can help you test whether bandwidth is the cause. It does not repair a missing video or add a quality option the service never supplied.
On a television
Check the provider’s supported app or browser, plan and chosen title edition. A4K television by itself does not make every playback path 4K. If sound and picture disagree, test without a wireless speaker or receiver first, then use the player’s audio options if available.
