One letter can change the movie
Predator, Predators and The Predator refer to different films. Start with the release year: Predator 1987, Predator 2 from 1990, Predators 2010 and The Predator 2018. Prey is the 2022 film with an earlier story setting.
Release order or story chronology?
For a first viewing, release order lets the series develop in the order its films appeared. A chronological arrangement makes a different choice about when to introduce Prey. Neither changes the production year shown on the title page.
Find something adjacent
If you like the combination of creature suspense and action, Alien, The Thing and Pitch Black offer different kinds of enclosed danger. They are not Predator sequels. Check the particular year for The Thing, which has entries for 1982 and 2011.
